Amazing uses of banana peels

  •  Did you play pranks with banana peels? Launching the "missile" for the intended victim to fall. Well...i guessed we all behaved ourselves and put the peel where it belonged-the bin.
  • Do you know this much overlooked " food waste" is a delicacy in places like India and the Caribbean? Next time you buy a bunch of bananas , do not throw away the peels because they have amazing benefits as follows:
  •  Banana peels are good teeth whiteners.  Just take time to apply the banana peel everyday on your teeth for a week and watch how your teeth become whiter.

  •  Banana peels leaves the skin hydrated. They are effective for curing wrinkles. Mix egg yolk with mashed banana peel and then apply to the skin. Leave it for 5minutes then wash off. This saves you money from buying expensive creams. Go the natural way.

  •   Banana peels  heals mosquito bites. Growing up in the tropics, mosquito is a force to contend with. Just apply the banana peel to the affected area and watch it heal.

  •  Banana peels serve as good UV protection from the sun rays. Ensure you leave the banana peel in the sun for some time before applying to your eyes, It is also a known cure for cataracts.

  •  Banana peels bring out the shimmer in your shoes, leather and silver articles. Have you run out of polish then opt for the a banana peel!

  •  Banana peel are good pain relievers. Apply the banana peel to the affected area and leave  for about 30 minutes till the pain is gone. A mixture of banana peel and vegetable oil would also come in handy  when you want to be relieved of pains.

  •  Banana peels can be eaten. Like I said earlier on, it is a meal for the Indians and Caribbeans. It is also used to make chicken meat soft.

  •  Now the big one, banana peels help in weight loss. Just toss them into a morning smoothie and you are good to go. Banana peels are packed with nutrients like vitamin A, lutein, and other antioxidants, including B vitamins, which your body needs to keep its metabolism in check. They have tons of soluble and insoluble fibre, even more than the fruit itself — both can slow digestion, boost feelings of fullness, and even work to lower cholesterol. 

  • Preferably, choose the green peels, which are better for cooking, and you’ll also get a big dose of probiotics, which increasing research shows are essential to balancing the body’s internal flora for weight loss.

  •  Greenpeels are also rich in resistant starch, the “calorie-free carb” that our bodies can’t digest and triggers fat-burning in animal studies. Plus, while bananas are famous for their potassium, which can turn a regular workout into a phenomenal, calorie-busting one.
